Denmark has a number of characteristics that distinguishes it from most other European countries, the most notable one being the strong passion for design and love of crafting. We know for a fact that home decoration design is part of the Danes’ national identity and daily life and names like Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl, Hans J. Wegner or Kaare Klint are bringing along the pride of the design thesaurus.
We are, therefore, really proud to present to you some of our members who will continue the tradition and honor their predecessors.
This tour can look like this (example only):
One of them and the first one to visit is Rud. Rasmussen located at Nørrebrogade, one of Denmark’s oldest and most traditional carpentries. Rud. Rasmussen dates back to the 1860s and has been producing fine Danish furniture classics ever since, setting high quality and exquisite crafting as the main priorities.
After the classic design of Rud Rasmussen, we go and see LLLP at Fælledevej – the studio where functionality, aesthetics and simplicity are the key. LLLP creates furniture for those who see the beauty in minimalism, timelessness and originality, for those who appreciate raw and simple design and for those who look for furniture with an edge.
Finally, we visit Griffen Shop, a small interior design shop, yet with fantastic design works. Griffen Shop is run by the architect Ms. Lotte Nørregaard who creates small furniture designs such as coffee tables, cupboards etc. Furthermore the shop specializes in custom-made interior designs made from a CNC-cutter.
